"I am currently on my first rotation in global corporate solutions, with my focus being on our occupier management services. The role is varied and, although it is a cliche, no two days are the same. I have direct communication with the clients I work with so if there is something that I need to bring to their attention, I can do so without going through a colleague on the account. This is something that some graduate schemes at other real estate companies do not offer and, having spoken to other graduates working for these firms, they are quite envious of the experience I am getting."

"In my current department I am lucky to be involved in a variety of work. My day-to-day activities can vary based on the current projects we have. I am involved in lots of valuation and appraisal work. This can involve tendering for work, meeting with clients, inspecting properties and reporting. It's great when you go and inspect the property that you will be working on, be it for a valuation or development appraisal, and see it through to delivering the report to the client."

"A range of commercial building surveying work including dilapidations, schedules of condition, party wall, contract administration, design and specification, and project management. All of these come with client-facing responsibilities."
Graduate, London
"During the graduate programme I was given a good level of responsibility, which allowed me to become better at managing my workload, but I was still given enough supervision to not make me feel out of my depth. The work is interesting and varied."
Entry level, Birmingham
"I work on a range of commercial, residential and industrial projects, as well as the diverse range of responsibilities associated with building surveying."
Graduate, London
"I have my own cases that I deal with on a day-to-day basis. I therefore have a certain level of responsibility, but not so much that I feel out of my depth."
Graduate, London
"I have been given responsibility from day one and I have learned skills throughout."

"Lease advisory involves reading leases and commenting on clauses that are unusual or affect value, collecting comparable information and verifying it through contacting agents who dealt with lettings/lease renewals/rent reviews. Also, inspecting and measuring properties to calculate areas and note features that affect the value of the property. There is also negotiation: getting the best deal for the client, which includes a degree of problem solving."
Graduate, London (City)
"Responsibilities can include: examining service charges, corresponding with clients and agents via email and telephone, completing research tasks and carrying out inspections of client properties. You are entrusted with more responsibility as your time at the company progresses, although the first few weeks can be quiet."
