After spending a year in local authority, I was aware of the presence that Carter Jonas had within the Eastern Region. With rapid expansion I decided to join Carter Jonas in the summer of 2015 as a Graduate.

During my time here, I have also completed a Master’s as well as working toward the submission of my APC. Building on the skills I obtained in local authority, I was able to build a knowledge of how the planning system worked within the private sector and how role differ. My time at Carter Jonas thus far has exposed me to a wide range of planning matters, working alongside my rural, residential and commercial colleagues to obtain a success outcome for their clients, as well as my own. I have had the privilege of working with national, regional and one off clients which has given me an extensive breath of knowledge.

I am now working towards the submission to become a member of the RTPI and aim to submit this late 2018. I have received regular support, and have met with a mentor regularly, as well as attending APC days that Carter Jonas runs for those progressing to full chartership. The team that I work with are incredibly approachable and whiling to answer any questions, making sure that the support I get as I develop my understanding is sound.
