What experiences can we offer you?
You will be working on many diverse and strategically important quality improvement projects, and will be given the responsibility for managing the delivery of these projects, on time and to budget.
Lasting two years in duration; each lasting typically 6 months; the development scheme gives you the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge as you move through different areas of the Quality organisation and other areas of the business. These include:
- Leading teams & applying 6 Sigma methodology to perform complex investigations in to quality issues
- Utilise latest data analytic techniques to identify quality trends
- Application of Lean Manufacturing principles in Quality processes (BIQ/RPRT)
- Deployment & assessment of Production Management Systems (CPS)
- Working with suppliers to achieve prescribed quality targets
Your rotations will include working with other significant business areas such as: Operations and Quality, Design, Mechanical Development, Product Management, Logistics, Finance, Purchasing, Suppliers and Customers enabling you to understand their interactions and how a company the size of Caterpillar operates on a global scale.
You will be given project leadership experience to grow your portfolio and skills. Whilst on the development scheme you are given the support and coaching required to develop your technical capability and business acumen and within a short period of time you will become an embedded team member within the Quality department. You will be encouraged to take the opportunity of a mentor from a Professional institute, either the IMechE or IET, for progression towards your professional qualifications. At the end of the development scheme, we will work with you to find suitable but demanding roles in key business areas. Which will position you well for your long term career in IPSD.
Who are we looking for?
Successful Applicants will be on track to obtaining a 2:1 in one of the following degrees
