Interesting Fact about you: I worked as a Quality Analyst intern at The Walt Disney Company in London whereby I gained a software testing qualification.

Did you relocate? If so how did you find it?: No
Your role at CGI: Support Analyst
Previous roles at CGI: N/A

Your usual working day:

I have two financial services and insurance clients and work as part of a team of three application support analysts, reporting to a service delivery manager. My role involves deploying major and minor releases into test and live environments, performing database copies, restores and transferring backups.

On a daily basis I make sure that the applications are available by doing regular system health checks and reviewing log files. We have an incident management queue, where issues are assigned and resolved within the service-level agreement specifications. For one of our clients, I am a service lead – which means that I gather monthly statistics and attend meetings with the clients and the third party.
I also monitor the inbox for any issues and queries from Industry members and will look into those issues, investigate and try to resolve them.

What you enjoy most about working for CGI:

The number of benefits that CGI offer such as the Share Purchase Plan and Flexible Benefits scheme. They will match your contribution pound for pound, up to a pre-set maximum and you can invest a set percentage of your salary in CGI shares. You also have the ablility to change certain benefits to suit your lifestyle, for instance buying or selling holidays.

Your top tip for someone considering the CGI and the programme you joined on:

I would really recommend doing a year in Industry if you get the opportunity to do so. If this is not possible, then make use of the time off in the summer to get some experience – even if it’s volunteering. This will prepare you for any upcoming interviews.
