"I generally work the standard 9.00 am to 5.30 pm working hours. There are occasions when something comes up and I have had to stay late but this is to be expected and has not happened often."
Graduate, Reading
"This depends on the project you're on. Members on non-secure projects have flexible hours."
Intern, Reading
"My employer is very flexible. I can make up hours from other days and take shorter lunches etc. I can even work from home if necessary."
Intern, Leatherhead, Surrey
"I'm contracted to work from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, with an hour for lunch. There is flexibility but this is down to each team. My team is incredibly flexible so I can sometimes come in at 7.30 am and leave at 4.00 pm and I can work from home on Mondays and Fridays. It's also very understanding if you have appointment."
Graduate, Reading
"This all depends on the team you are on so it varies wildly. Some are flexible while others are more strict. CGI provides more holidays than the legal requirement so you can get plenty of down-time."
Entry level, Edinburgh
"I have lots of flexibility on my project, which is really great when living alone in rented accommodation and having to be present for certain events. I'm able to make up hours missed for appointments, work from home when required and come in earlier/leave later as I need."
Graduate, Reading
"I work the standard 37.5 hour week (7.5 hours per day). There's good flexibility (there's no problem if you need to take some time out of the day to go to the doctors) and I'm able to adjust my hours, within reason, to suit my own arrangements."
Graduate, Birmingham
"I work 9.00 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday and this is pretty much what everyone else does too. Some arrive and leave a bit earlier, some arrive and leave a bit later and both of these are perfectly fine so long as you do your 7.5 hours a day."
Graduate, Edinburgh

2016

"I work 37.5 hours a week on average, though it depends on your project/department as to how flexible they are with when you work. For me, I can work at home sometimes and I can generally start at a time that suits me as long as it's within the core hours of the project."
Graduate, Leatherhead
"Work hours are standard at 37.5 hours a week with 25 days of holiday. I feel that this is very reasonable. It can be easy to slip into the habit of working longer than these hours but this is standard practice in business."
Graduate, London
"I think this varies depending on project and location. I am based on a client site and the project is very good at allowing flexible hours within reason. We are also able to have the odd day working from home if we have an appointment to attend or need to stay in for an engineer. As long as you do your hours and do your work they are really flexible."
Graduate,
"They're really flexible and most people work 37.5 hours per week. There are core working hours."
Graduate, Leatherhead
"37.5 hours a week with some options for overtime depending on your project. The working hours are very flexible, within reason, and they offer the opportunity to work from home on occasion if your project allows it."
Graduate, Bridgend (Wales)

2014

"My job is fairly flexible with hours, I usually do a 8:30am-5:00pm work day."
Graduate, Reading
"I've got to work 37.5 hours per week. However, as long as I am in the office between 10:00am and 4:00pm, the exact hours I work are flexible."
Graduate, Leatherhead
"I work seven and a half hours per day, with an hour lunch break."
Graduate, Gloucester
"You work what you need to get your work done. The company is flexible to a degree with regards to working hours."
Graduate, Bristol
"I can work from home twice a week which saves money on travel to work. The company is very flexible in working hours."
Graduate, Bridgend
"You are required to work 37.5 hours a week. My project is quite flexible about work times as long as we are in the office for set core development hours. This is because the team will be required to discuss and work together."
Graduate, Leatherhead
