Charityworks: Get paid to build a better world
Charityworks is the UK non-profit sector’s acclaimed graduate scheme.
Its aim is to connect passionate, talented graduates with some of the leading charities and non-profits in the UK. This supports the development of the sector and better equips it to serve the causes, people and communities that rely on it.
In challenging political and economic times, Charityworks believes that the non-profit sector’s success will depend on its ability to mobilise talent. By providing, talented, committed and passionate people with a route into the sector, Charityworks gives them the space to pursue social change.
This in turn allows high potential graduates to go on and build their careers in the sector. At the same time, it gives non-profits a cost-effective way to recruit and develop talented graduates.
In 2014, Charityworks built on sector and Cabinet Office support to become a national programme and in 2016/17 will offer 150 graduate placements at charities and non-profits across the country. These range from national charities like AgeUK and the NSPCC through to dynamic local housing associations and the Small Charities coalition.
Beyond the support trainees get from their employers, Charityworks offers a comprehensive talent development package. This includes a dedicated programme manager, 2 learning sessions a month on a range of subjects, a carefully matched, experienced mentor, research projects and coaching.
This makes the scheme a well-rounded way of getting into and getting on with a career in the non-profit sector.
