The company aims to respond to online applications within a week, with an initial phone interview expected to occur around a week later and a second, face-to-face interview a week after that.
Successful candidates are then invited to a final interview with senior members of the firm before an offer is made. Some applicants say they received a response within 48 hours at each stage of the application process.

The online application form is fairly straightforward, with only three steps and no competency-based questions.
- Step 1: Asks candidates to confirm that they have achieved A and B grades at A level and state their expected/achieved degree classification. There are also questions about eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to relocate for the post if necessary.
- Step 2: Asks for personal and contact details such as name, address, phone number and email. The main application is in the form of a CV and covering letter, which candidates can upload at this stage. The remaining questions refer to term dates, the intake applied for, and any contacts within the company.
- Step 3: Confirmation that is the application is complete.
CHP usually attends careers fairs at university campus throughout the first term of the academic year, offering a good opportunity to meet representatives from the company and ask any burning questions.
It has been suggested that these fairs may also give potential candidates an opportunity to get themselves noticed by CHP recruiters, and increase their chances of getting an interview.
