Interview Process

2014

"As a graduate, I started out with a phone interview followed by two interviews at the CHP offices. Before each stage of the interview, I was given ample information about what would be covered in the interview and how I should prepare."
Midlevel, London
"There is a short online application form, followed by a phone call with HR, then two interviews, one of which is attended by a member of the operational board. You are asked a little about the industry but the main focus is on your past experience and your future expectations. They want you to want to work here! There is no technical assessment for graduate hires, which is nice as you get to be a little more genuine when you don't have pressure put on you."

"Graduates need to send in a CV and a covering letter. The interview process then involves a telephone interview and two interviews in our London office."
Entry level, London
"The interview process consisted of two interviews - one with the HR manager and a manager, and the second with a director and a member of the operational board. The HR manager was really good at keeping in touch during the process, and responded very quickly to any questions I had. The interviews happen quite quickly one after another, so you're not left waiting."

"CHP has one telephone interview and then two face-to-face interviews. I really appreciated how straightforward they were about everything the whole time, I could just talk directly to the HR manager whenever I needed to, and I was given prompt feedback at every stage."

2013

"One phone interview, two in-person interviews at the company offices."
Midlevel, London
"Telephone Interview with HR manager. First round with HR manager and project manager. Second round with Director and Associate Director. Interviews got progressively more challenging, requiring one to think on their feet and give intelligent answers."
Entry level, London
"Three interviews all mainly to ensure that I understood the company and what I'd been doing."
Graduate, London
"Good grades and a good university name on your CV won't be enough. You have to be able to communicate well and be a team player. Personality is extremely important."
Entry level, London
"The interview process comprises of three stages: - an initial phone interview - a first round face-to-face interview - a second round interview which is usually more formal and will be with two members of the board. Questions are focused heavily on what CHP do, if you have researched the company thoroughly it'll definitely shift the odds in your favour."
Entry level, London
"One phone interview, and two face-to-face interviews. It was a very straightforward process, and the HR manager was very helpful and friendly throughout. It was a much more personal experience than at other companies, and although the interviews are demanding, I don't think they ever expected anything unreasonable."
Graduate, London
"Thousands of top applicants from top universities apply each year for only a handful of places, so it's far from easy to get in. The questions were not the boring, standard competency-based fare from other company interviews, and instead focused on my interests, intelligence and adaptability, as well as my awareness and understanding of the company, the industry and where my role would sit within that."
Graduate, London
"There is very tough competition, however if you invest well in preparing for each stage of the interview process then you will stand a much better chance of success. Be sure the company is right for you."
Graduate, London
"There was a phone interview with HR, followed by a first interview with HR and a senior manager, then a final interview with the directors. I found the interview process very straightforward and pleasant. And felt like I was being treated as a person rather than just a number!"
