Finance Graduate Programme
Finance plays a key role in Close Brothers strategy by focusing on achieving sustainable growth, developing commercial insight and responding to the ever changing regulatory and economic environment.
The Finance department has approximately 80 employees and is based on a shared services model with Bank Financial Control (‘BFC’) and Financial Planning and Analysis teams (FP&A). BFC are based in Wimbledon and are responsible for core processes, including accounting policy, statutory and regulatory reporting, tax, accounts payable and finance systems. The FP&A teams are located with the local business and are responsible for supporting decision making through management reporting, deal pricing, forecasting, budgeting and planning.
This is a three year placement scheme involving three challenging one year placements. These are designed to build the graduates expertise across the broad scope of the Finance department, from planning and forecasting, to management and statutory reporting. At the same time the graduate will be enrolled and supported in training towards an accounting qualification. The goal is to deliver a well-rounded, experienced and fully qualified finance professional at the end of three years ready to tackle their first management position.
An ideal graduate would have strong academic performance with an analytical degree. They must be proactive and driven, with strong numerical, analytical and team working skills. A willingness to continue studying and eagerness to learn are must have.
