Interview: Tips & Advice

2014

"Before the interview, have a look at selection process advice on Deloitte's website. Keep up-to-date with the news. Know about Deloitte and be able to explain why you want to work there."
Graduate, Birmingham
"Make sure you have thoroughly researched Deloitte and understand who they are as a company, and what they stand for."

"Be well prepared for the interviews. Your Partner presentation should be equally well prepared, and you should come with an in-depth knowledge of the company you will talk about. I discussed how recent FRS changes would affect the company I was presenting, and the partner seemed particularly impressed with this."
Graduate, London
"Read online forums and prepare yourself for every step. From the very first assessment, know what you are likely to face and get ready for it. If you never make it to the interview stage, then you will never get the peace of mind of knowing that you simply were not what they were looking for. In the interviews, be yourself and do whatever it is that makes you relax. For my presentation I ignored all advice and went in with no handouts, no PowerPoint presentation; nothing. I researched it all, wrote notes, learned the notes, and decided to take the gamble of going off the top of my head and demonstrating my communication skills - and it paid off."
Graduate, Birmingham
"Read the Deloitte website, familiarise yourself with what Deloitte and the department you've applied to does. Your day-to-day role. What Deloitte stands for and its culture. Always ask questions at the end of the interview!"
