I applied to E.ON because I wanted to work for an energy company and it is one of the largest within the UK, the fact that it has such strong links to other countries is certainly a massive plus! I’ve worked across both IT and the business during my time at E.ON. It’s great to work for a company that has so many great people and takes you to other countries!
I started in IT Transformation looking at how we can improve and support the IT systems being used, then moved across to Business to Business (B2B) in a support role for E.ONs Connected Services as well as supporting with Electric Vehicles and new business propositions being created. I then spent 5 months abroad in Sweden in their New Way of Working (NWoW) team, looking at how to bring agile principles and mindsets into E.ON. Finally, I’ve been working in the UK Propositions space, being a Product Owner on a real-time energy proposition called E.ON See Live, supporting with the creation of a study that we’re doing alongside the UK Governmental body (BEIS).
It’s hard to choose just one best bit, the experiences gathered across the 2 years of the graduate scheme are amazing, you get involved with all sorts of work often taking you to other countries. For me, my time in Sweden with their NWoW team was fantastic, being able to learn and work in a different culture. The future is also exciting, I am returning to E.ON Sweden in a Business Analyst role, it’s really incredible what can, and has been done throughout the graduate scheme.
