I like working for E.ON because of the variety the scheme offers and the nature of the work – if we don’t produce energy or provide solutions to our customers, the UK would look very different. I applied for the scheme as it lets me see the different HR areas and gain a broad perspective. My colleagues are always friendly, helpful, supportive and challenge me to develop myself. My first role as an Employee Relations (ER) Adviser saw me advising the UK on ER matters, supporting managers in decision making and managing associated risks. In my 5-month international placement, I was based at our Headquarters in Germany with the Group/Executive HR Business Solutions Team. I helped to look after the global development frameworks and offerings, supporting a workforce of over 40,000. My focuses were providing pioneering digital HR solutions and developing Employer Brand initiatives. My current placement within the UK Talent Team is teaching me lots about nurturing talent and how to get the best out of people. The best bit of my scheme so far has been my international placement. I found it challenging but learned so much about a new culture, way of working and team in the 5 months I was in Germany.
