Our Engineering Graduate Programme

The Railway Industry has a lot to offer to graduate engineers and our two-year programme has been designed to give you a balanced blend of personal and professional development.

We are proud to offer an accredited programme that follows the guidelines of the Rail Delivery Group and provides a quality route to achieving Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer registration with the Engineering Council UK.

During the programme, you will mainly be based in our Engineering Centre near Stratford and you will spend your time working on projects within our experienced Mechanical and Electrical engineering teams. Through a variety of placements, you will become competent in the field of traction and rolling stock engineering, maintenance, operation, specification and procurement.

While you are on the programme, you will get involved in a mix of office-based and operational activities and will be guided by our qualified engineers. In addition, you will be mentored by an external mentor who will be selected by the Rail Delivery Group. Please note that you might be required to work on night shifts as part of your placements.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate and dedicated to make our company a success.
  • Enthusiastic about engineering and has a good grip on fundamental engineering principles
  • Resilient with a strong sense of personal ambition, mirrored with an ambition for the business as a whole.
  • Driven to succeed with the confidence to make connections across the business.
  • Comfortable with autonomy and finding solutions for themselves whilst having the support of the engineering team.

Academic qualifications:

In order to get the best out of our programme, you must have a degree that is accredited by either the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) or the IMechE (Institution of Mechanical Engineers). Even though a degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering is preferable, we would be happy to receive applications from other engineering disciplines.

Language:

French language skills are desirable but not essential.

Assessment Centres will be held in early March 2019
