Mechanical Engineering Technical Summer Placement

The Summer Internship Program (SIP) offers a valuable insight into how a leading engineering organisation operates. Within the fully integrated Fawley site, you will work in small groups (2 or 3) on a real project in either the Mechanical or Project teams.

The projects require hands on involvement; interacting with a variety of experts within the organisation in the office and out on site to provide recommendations and solutions to help drive the performance of the site forwards. You will have the opportunity to interface with all levels of the organization and to demonstrate your project management, analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills. You will be mentored and developed throughout your project to build on your skills, whilst also given the opportunity to be assessed for a permanent Graduate position within ExxonMobil following your university studies.

In previous years, the projects have been challenging, engaging and diverse and you will have real responsibilities from day 1.

Timings: The Summer Internship Program runs from beginning of July to end of August of each year.

Requirements: Candidates must be in the penultimate year of study as part of their Mechanical Engineering Masters or Bachelors degree, with a predicted degree of 2:1 minimum.
