Your Experience ExxonMobil day does not end there, it is the fast track route to securing your 2019 placement. With your decision on your preferred placement programme made we’ll interview you for that programme on the day whilst you’re at the event – over 80% of our 2018 placement students secured their placement in this way at Experience ExxonMobil events in 2017.

Job Role Responsibilities

Our placements offer real work experience, either over our eight week Summer Placement or thirteen month Industrial Placement starting in July 2019. While on placement with ExxonMobil you will have support and guidance from managers, supervisors and more recent graduates to enable you to use your degree knowledge and fulfil your potential, gaining confidence and experience as an individual through learning new skills from being in a real operational environmental. Our placements are paid and we offer competitive salary and benefits.

Join our Human Resources Team at Fawley Refinery in 2019. The largest refinery in the UK, Fawley is a combined refining, lubricants and chemicals manufacturing site which is located on the south coast of England, on the edge of the New Forest National Park.

Job Requirements

Our HR team plays a crucial role in the development of strategies and people related initiatives across our employee development system, starting with recruitment and including policy, compensation, employee relations, organisational effectiveness, staffing and development and more.

Working as part of a global HR organisation, our UK based team focuses on strategic partnership with our business line customers, working closely with them to implement HR strategies, organisational changes, and ensuring a productive work environment. As an HR Placement Student you would work with our Manufacturing HR Team, based at Fawley Refinery, supporting our local HR Advisor Team. You can expect to undertake projects of an analytical nature that will give you an insight into our business and topical HR challenges, and provide you with an opportunity to partner with our HR Advisors on service delivery to our businesses at the Refinery.

Eligibility Requirements

Firstly, to be eligible for our 2019 placement programmes and to Experience ExxonMobil you must:

  • Be graduating in 2020
  • Be expecting a 2:1 Bachelors/Masters degree (or equivalent)
  • Have a minimum of three A levels (or equivalent) of at least B grade
  • Have an interest and understadning and a desire to want to work in Human Resources

If you’re application meets the minimum criteria you will be invited to take our online test, which you must complete within five days of receiving the invitation. Candidates who pass the online test will be invited to a competency based Skype interview between May and end of August. If you’re successful, you’ll receive an invitation via email to Experience ExxonMobil by mid-September

If you’re not successful in applying to Experience ExxonMobil we’ll aim to let you know via email by mid-August, but we’ll always aim to do this as soon as we can.

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidates will be made a conditional offer of employment. The conditions include, but are not limited to: a satisfactory criminal records disclosure; satisfactory employment references over five years (where applicable); verification of qualifications, including any professional accreditation stated in the application; completion of a pre-employment medical, including a test for illicit or unprescribed drugs in accordance with the Company's safety policies; and the legal right to work on the agreed commencement date.
