What will I be doing?

Over two-and-a-half years you will experience different markets, products and practices, building your communication skills and getting to grips with our global reach.

Your programme will be designed to ensure that at the end of your programme you have a thorough understanding of our clients and the business.

Your first rotation will be in the Client Services Team in our Surrey office before transferring into a sales or marketing team. We will then work together to help you select the rotations that match both your skills, interests and ambitions as well as business need as closely as possible, to provide you with the grounding to accelerate in a sales or marketing career.

Client Services

In addition to playing a large part in first line customer care, your rotation will also involve a project to look at ways to improve processes and procedure to increase efficiencies and customer satisfaction.

Within sales support you will gain exposure to clients, help to prepare for and attend client meetings, introducing Fidelity International and our capabilities. You will attend events to get to know prospective clients and build relationships with existing contacts.

You will work on innovative marketing campaigns and develop new tools to help investors choose and manage their portfolios.  You could also be analysing data and commissioning market research that enables us to identify new trends in the marketplace, or product opportunities ahead of our competitors.

We have product roles across all our asset classes.  You would liaise with the investment directors and the sales teams to provide market commentary and client presentations to deepen your product knowledge.

What we look for

Regardless of your degree discipline, we will teach you the skills and knowledge you need to help you get advanced professional qualifications and expand your skillset.  You’ll have the learning agility and intellectual curiosity to get up to speed in each of your rotations quickly and leave a legacy before you rotate again.

Thirst for knowledge

You will be highly driven with intellectual curiosity, ambition and an absolute commitment to serving the best interests of our clients. You’ll have the analytical skills to understand product performance and ideas to develop both new and existing markets

Build networks

You will have the ability to build your network with individuals from a range of business cultures and backgrounds.

Confident and articulate

You must be confident, enthusiastic and articulate enough to shine in front of clients, particularly when presenting

2:1 or above

You will have a minimum of three C’s at A level or equivalent and have obtained or be on track for at least a 2:1 degree (or equivalent).

Learning and development

Unlike other firms that hire on a volume basis, we take on a select number of graduates. You will be highly valued here, so your development is heavily invested in from day one.

We invest a lot in our graduates, we will support you as you work towards relevant professional qualifications. In your first year, you will complete the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and in your second year, you will have the opportunity to study towards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification or a marketing related diploma.

Salary and Benefits

We invest a lot of time and resource into our graduates, ensuring you receive a really strong remuneration package including salary and lifestyle benefits. You will receive a starting annual salary of £35,000 in addition to a £6,000 welcome bonus. Your salary is reviewed annually and you are also eligible for the discretionary, annual performance related bonus in addition to our pension plan, life assurance, private healthcare and 23 days’ annual leave entitlement.

Application process

We like well-rounded applicants, which is why we will ask you questions that will highlight your personality and potential.

Online application

We value the different ways that people think. Don’t tell us what you think we want to hear - it’s not what you choose to write about that matters but how you articulate your thoughts. We will be looking for you to provide your answers via previous examples from academia, employment, voluntary work or societies you may have been involved with. You don’t have to do this all in one go – you can save and log in as many times as you want with your username and password.

You will need to:
- answer three questions to support your application
- provide an up-to-date CV

Online testing

Our online inductive reasoning test is focused on logical thinking and how candidates can work flexibly with unfamiliar information to find solutions to problems

Phone interview

If your application is successful, we will ask you to complete a motivation-based telephone interview, lasting approximately 30 minutes. We’ll ask you why sales and marketing within Fidelity International appeals to you, as well as learning more about your background and skills, and how you use these day-to-day.

Face to face interview

We are a little bit different to other businesses. We want to meet you and learn more about you before inviting you to an assessment day. This stage would be an opportunity to come into our offices in London, meet the team face-to-face and learn more about the business. Your interview would be an hour long, focusing on what you can bring to the role through competency and strengths-based questions.

Assessment centre

During the assessment, you will be involved in a combination of a group exercise, an interview and an analysis exercise.

Stand out at the assessment centre and we’ll offer you a place on our graduate programme. You’ll have two weeks from the day you receive your offer to make a decision. We can assign you a current graduate as a buddy to help with your decision making. They will continue to be on hand to support you throughout your early career at Fidelity.

Are you ready to apply?

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis so no need to wait until the very last day. If the sales and marketing graduate scheme is the programme for you, then you can register your interest on the site below and you will be reminded to submit your application between 11th January 2018 and 11th March 2018.
