Operational Management Intern Programme 2019, UK
Fidelity International provides world class investment solutions and retirement expertise to institutions, individuals and their advisers - to help our clients build better futures for themselves and generations to come. As a private company we think generationally and invest for the long term. Helping clients to save for retirement and other long term investing objectives has been at the core of our business for nearly 50 years.
What you'll be doing:
Over the course of an 8-week programme, you’ll absorb and learn all about Fidelity International and discover how our component parts work together. This is particularly true within Distribution Operations where, in addition to the lunch and learns and overviews you will receive, you will complete a project in one of; Anti-Money Laundering, Brokerage, Fund Data Management or Pricing.
Learn alongside leaders
You’ll learn how our team of experts ensure that Fidelity works seamlessly on multiple platforms and understand what is necessary in the back office to ensure this success.
Embrace the rotation
Distribution Operations are responsible for supporting the business in a variety of ways. You could potentially have rotations within Fund Data Management, Retirement Benefits Team – Pensions, Re-Regulations and Transfers –Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP), Workplace Investing (WI) or Personal Investing (PI), Brokerage or the Anti-Money Laundering team.
At the end of your eight week programme, you’ll present a review of your time with Fidelity and answer questions which will contribute towards the potential of a graduate offer for 2019.
Who we look for:
You need to be ambitious, enthusiastic and driven. We want someone who is unafraid to challenge the status quo, yet someone who can disrupt appropriately. We want innovative thinking but critically, people who can complement this skill with delivery. You need to be both resilient and tenacious in order to overcome any obstacles in your way.
You will be graduating in 2019 and you will have ABB at A level or equivalent and be on track for at least a 2:1 degree (or equivalent).
Your training and development:
We don't expect you to come straight in and know everything about what we do. You'll start the internship with a mini induction, during which we'll introduce you to asset management and how it fits into the City, as well as to the broader financial markets. We will then provide you with core financial modelling and company valuation training.
After that, there are many more ways to develop your skills as your internship progresses. A series of 'lunch and learns' hosted by key business speakers including portfolio managers will give you a first-hand, genuine insight into the full scope of each of our businesses. Social and networking events will help you get to know our people and our culture. All the while you'll be learning on the job, working to clear goals and showing us you deserve a place on our graduate programme.
