Gibson Dunn is one of the world's leading law firms with a London practice established over 30 years ago. The London office handles all aspects of corporate work including public and private M&A, private equity, finance, capital markets, tax, commercial real estate, funds and restructuring and insolvency. The office also has an extensive dispute resolution practice handling commercial litigation, regulatory investigations, international arbitration and employment and competition law disputes. Our clients include listed companies, investment banks, sovereign states, governmental entities, private equity firms, stat-ups and many other organisations with international operations and ambitions. Equally important to the firm and to the London office are our pro bono clients; we consider pro bono work to be part and parcel of our practice of law and we regularly act for a wide variety of organisations and charities.
In September 2015 we welcomed our first four trainees to the London office and all four qualified into their department of choice in September 2017. Our second intake of six trainees arrived in September 2016 and all six qualified into their department of choice in September 2018. In 2021 we are looking to welcome our seventh intake of around seven trainees. Although our training programme is still relatively young, our London office is full of deep and broad experience of managing trainees and junior lawyers. Trainees spend at least one six-month seat in a transactional department and at least one seat in a dispute resolution department. To the extent possible, trainees are able to choose their remaining seats, which can include secondments to a leading client or an international office.
We welcome applications from exceptional individuals, who have strong interpersonal and organisational skills and who can rise to the challenge of working directly with partners within small, focused teams and having client contact early in their careers.
