(based on 15 ratings in 2018)

"This will vary greatly depending upon the team you are in. However, irrespective of the team, you can expect to be trusted with important and high-quality work. Interaction with clients varies across the firm but there is plenty of opportunity to gain skills in this area as well."

"It's normally really good but can sometimes be dry and admin heavy. You'll usually (but not always) have a decent part to play if you're working on something big."

"I am given a wide variety of work and a reasonable level of autonomy. I manage my own files, deal directly with clients and liaise with people across various departments in the firm. Work ranges from basic tasks typical of what juniors are expected to do to complex and problem-solving challenges with tight timelines."

"Every day is different. I work on deals with colleagues from both the Birmingham and London offices (and even from some of our international offices). I get to work on both national and international deals and I have input on all steps of a transaction."
Second year trainee, Birmingham
"The quality of work received as a trainee is outstanding in general. You still get your fair share of admin, bundling and bible preparation etc but this tends to diminish as you progress through your training contract."

"This is generally great. We get good responsibility on small-value matters but can also take part in some high-value matters. It varies from team to team but, in most teams, the quality of work assigned to trainees remains excellent."
Second year trainee, Birmingham
"The quality and quantity of work varies from team to team. Most teams will give you varied and interesting work as well as lots of responsibility. Day to day I can be drafting documents, undertaking research and performing file management."
