Finance Future Leaders Programme
Who are we?
One of the world’s leading healthcare companies, GSK discovers, develops, manufactures and distributes life-saving vaccines, prescription medicines and consumer health products such as Maxinutrition, Sensodyne, Savlon and Panadol.
The size and scope of our organisation allows our people to answer some of the biggest questions facing everyone on the planet – questions about future healthcare needs and questions about building a responsive, innovative, global business to meet them – as well as questions about their own personal and professional growth.
What is the Finance Future Leaders programme?
Finance is all about utilising the numbers to support everything that we achieve worldwide. Bringing a global perspective to cost-effectiveness, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent service through constant innovation. By joining us, you can directly influence our growth in a rapidly changing global marketplace. Across this 3 year multi rotational programme, you'll gain wide-ranging experience of different business units and develop through different finance roles. You'll do a real job, with responsibilities and deliverables, whether you're embedded within our research and development (R&D), commercial or manufacturing businesses, in our shared service centre or undertaking a corporate role. Throughout, you'll be part of our global finance community and gain a solid grounding in financial management through a series of challenging, in-depth work placements and the study of your CIMA qualification.
What’s in it for me?
Do you want to work somewhere that’s deeply committed to personal and professional development – offering a range of ongoing and tailored learning opportunities? Do you want trust and respect? Do you want the chance to develop your career across an incredibly diverse collection of businesses and geographies? Do you want to flourish in an environment where personal growth plays a vital part in the changing face of the business? Most of all, do you want to enjoy the sense of purpose that comes from leading change in an industry that touches millions every day? That’s what you’ll get at GSK. We are looking for graduates who have/are expecting to achieve a 2:1 or equivalent in their degree.
Our Finance Future Leaders Programme is for analytical thinkers with strong business awareness to inform decisions that will directly influence our growth and development. We want graduates who can demonstrate strong communication skills and a passion for building relationships, as well as an ambition to make a difference to people and the business.
Do I have the skills?
No prior finance knowledge is necessary. In fact we’re looking for students from different backgrounds to bring their fresh perspective into finance with a willingness to learn and an analytical mind.
You can apply for a finance role at GSK whatever you’re degree background. You should be on track for a 2.1 or above in your undergraduate degree. We’re particularly looking for business, management, economics, maths and science students.
You should have achieved a minimum of 300 UCAS points (excluding General Studies) in your top 3 A levels as well as having achieved an A grade in GCSE maths or a grade A or B in A level maths. Your industrial placement must be recognised or supported by your university.
Whatever your degree, you'll be a self-starter with a strong interest in finance. Excellent communication skills are essential to establishing good working relationships, while strong influencing, analytical and multi-tasking skills will be required for your demanding roles. You should also have a resilient personality and a strong commercial mindset
