Industrial Placement - IT

Who are we?

One of the world’s leading healthcare companies, GSK discovers, develops, manufactures and distributes life-saving vaccines, prescription medicines and consumer health products such as Sensodyne, Savlon and Panadol.

The size and scope of our organisation allows our people to answer some of the biggest questions facing everyone on the planet – questions about future healthcare needs and questions about building a responsive, innovative, global business to meet them – as well as questions about their own personal and professional growth.

What does an IT industrial placement have to offer?

Although we are an organisation heavily grounded in Science and Healthcare, we are looking for undergraduates to work with us in a diverse range of IT projects and services. IT is a vital function within the GSK business both internally and externally. Without its structured support and tailoring to the needs of each department globally, services and products could not be delivered with such accuracy, precision and value on a global scale. This is why we offer a range of IT industrial placement opportunities every year to help us deliver this value. You could be working in project management, communications or as a service specialist or business analyst just to name a few. Why not get your career off to a great start and join a world-leading healthcare company?

What’s in it for me?

A placement is a great chance to apply the skills you have learned at university and apply them within a global organisation such as GSK. You will be engaging with people both internally and externally on a daily basis which will provide you with a great foundation to develop your interpersonal skills and adaptability. The ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients alike provides a diverse set of opportunities to gain experience and firsthand knowledge whilst working on several critical projects and services. In turn, you will develop stronger organisational and problem solving skills which are transferable across any business area or organisation. All students are fully supported throughout your placement journey, whilst also having the freedom to develop your own individual experiences.
