Our Future Leaders Programmes are for those who aspire to be leaders, inspire others and relish some of the world’s biggest healthcare challenges. We believe in focusing on the patient and conducting our business with integrity, transparency and respect for everyone we work with.

Our Pharma Supply Chain programmes are three years long and usually have 3 rotations which could be across our UK sites. This is to enhance the development of your skills through having a breadth and depth of our business.

We invest heavily in your personal development to prepare you for a career as a leader through regular discussions with your line manager and support from a wide network of colleagues but you are still the driver of your development. You will also have continuous training where 70% is on-the-job, 20% is through developmental relationships and 10% is through formal training and educational courses.

What to expect on the EHSS Future Leader Programme:

This 3-year rotational programme will aim to accelerate your early career development through diverse experiences that will put you on the path for a future EHSS leadership role. You’ll experience challenging job rotations, which will be complemented by formal learning, coaching and mentoring from the Lead Team.

We will give you a breadth of experience in the core areas of our EHSS model, including EHSS Services, Business-embedded EHSS functions, and the EHSS Technical Centre of Excellence. You will have the opportunity to spend time outside of EHSS in a different function where you can gain experience closer to our customers. Your experience may be across different areas such as Research & Development, Commercial, Manufacturing, or other relevant business areas. The aim is to accelerate your early career development through diverse experiences and put you on the path for a future leadership role at GSK within the EHSS community and beyond.

During each rotation, you will develop a range of business and technical competencies and world class leadership skills. On top of this you will develop a broad understanding of EHSS through breadth and knowledge of our different business areas, such as manufacturing or R&D, and technical specialists such as performance coaching, resilience, process safety, sustainability, occupational hygiene and health management.

Whilst on the program you will be supported by the Global Programme Office, your line manager, an EHSS Lead Team Mentor and a buddy. Personal development is achieved through tailored training and development plans highlighting specific individual needs. On top of that we also provide formal training opportunities and coaching to ensure your continued development is on track and you are successfully achieving your goals.

When nearing the end of each rotation, successful associates work with their Lead Team Mentor and Global Programme Director to identify their next rotation opportunity which will be appropriate for individual skills development and the business needs.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous EHSS experience or exposures through related internships or coursework preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through organisations and activities
  • Strong scientific and analytical skills; as well as a solid business acumen
  • Experience working and interpreting metrics
  • An additional language preferred (or business English if English is not first language
  • Ambition

  • You must be flexible to be based across any of our UK sites
  • You must have or expect to obtain in 2018 a minimum 2.1 in an Engineering or Sciences degree from an accredited college/university.
