Graduate Electrical Engineer - Building Services
My client is a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. They have many different divisions including civil, building information modelling, environmental, structural, mechanical, h & s and project management. They have established specialists in field working on large projects, mainly in the UK, with a long established history of excellence in field and quality of approach and practice. They also place a big value on renewables as a business and contribute a lot to the conversation on the country moving to more sustainable forms of energy, which affects how the various disciplines in the consultancy operate. One of their main fields of expertise is building services, and they have worked on a variety of commercial and industrial large building projects ranging in value from £500,000 to £60 million.
I am currently recruiting for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to work within the client's building services team located in Peterborough. They are looking for a career minded graduate with some commercial work experience under their belt to focus on the design of buildings services systems in their client's build projects. Day to day varies, but you will be focused on design work of a variety of systems. Although it is a holistic building services role it is more electrical biased; electrics will form a higher proportion of the work, for example projects will often include alarm system design.
Experience is important but the person fit is essential - the consultancy looks for forward thinkers who have a client focused mindset and an eye for adding value to the service being offered throughout the different aspects of any project.
The role is considered part of the graduate programme and a structured training plan for you to start your career in the consultancy. They encourage sponsorship towards chartered building services engineer status as a longer term career aim.
- Bachelor's Degree in building services engineering, electrical engineering or closely related
- 2.1 is ideal but not essential
- Good computer literacy skills and an interest in the implementation of built environment technologies
- Relevant commercial experience working in a consultancy, construction or engineering firm
- Design software experience - Revit, Autocad, DIALux, and Amtech would be useful
Interested? Please send me your CV and a cover note explaining why you would be the best candidate for this role.
