We want motivated candidates committed to providing their best and determined to succeed. Usually a minimum 2:1 degree is required but special circumstances will be considered. Chambers adheres to and supports the Bar Council’s policies on equal opportunity and non-discrimination.
We provide a 12 month period of intensive and high quality training in a relaxed atmosphere. Pupils are likely to spend time with three different pupil supervisors, one for each of the first and second three months, and one for the second six months. The pupil supervisors’ respective practices will cover two or more of chambers’ areas of specialisation, including clinical disputes or professional negligence in particular. Pupils are encouraged to work with different members of chambers and to undertake work for the FRU or other pro bono work. In the second six months pupils accept instructions and attend court on their own account. Formal and informal feedback is provided and regarded as crucial for the learning process. A mentor is always available to discuss pupillage in the strictest confidence.

We are offering two 12-month pupillages commencing in September 2018 with an award each of £50,000 including £5,000 guaranteed earnings (subject to upward review).
Chambers offers mini-pupillages throughout the year (although vacation periods are best avoided) to those who have started university and can show a real interest in pursuing a legal career. To apply please send a copy of your CV together with a covering letter to Alicia Tew.
