Heathrow Engineering Future Leaders Programme
Launch your engineering career at Heathrow Airport
Heathrow is the one of the world’s major hub airports – and engineering is our lifeblood. Providing the facilities and services to fly over 200,000 passengers every single day requires £14bn of engineering assets, including rail, roads, tunnels, bridges and a private water system, not to mention the UK’s largest free-standing structure: Terminal 5. And all this infrastructure is maintained and developed by our engineering teams.
Join us, on our two-year immersive programme, and you’ll gain first-hand experience of the breadth of our role at Heathrow. You’ll be part of a team that delivers ground-breaking development, construction and maintenance projects – managing our facilities, rail infrastructure and assets. From water to energy, rail to roads, you’ll take on a key role in keeping the airport running, resolving problems, addressing faults and planning for our future growth.
Working alongside and learning from experienced engineers, you’ll progress through a comprehensive training plan that supports you to reach Chartered Engineer status and builds your knowledge, experience and leadership skills to become an Engineering Future Leader. You will rotate across our engineering operation, with opportunities ranging from our terminal, airside and rail operations to water management and power generation. You’ll be learning essential leadership, commercial and project management skills, with the support of an engaged community from the frontline to the boardroom.
We are looking for people who have a real passion for engineering along with a degree in an engineering discipline. Are you an excellent all-round communicator? Can you demonstrate the desire to learn about different areas of our business throughout the two-year programme and beyond? Are you looking to develop not just your technical engineering skills but also your ability to lead and encourage people to reach their potential, and to work strategically at the highest levels?
Then our Engineering Future Leaders Programme could be just what you’re looking for.
