"Solicitors and partners are very accessible. Some supervisors are better than others at giving feedback/teaching, of course, but overall feedback/praise/recognition is good. Partners and more senior lawyers are very good at thanking people for hard work, in my experience."

"Every trainee gets assigned a Partner mentor at the start of their first seat. Other Partners also mentor you along the way if they like you, but this largely depends on your own relationship with them. Every department has a Trainee Review Partner who keeps check on supervisors, etc. If you do good work this always gets fed back to your supervisor."

"Apart from the ritualistic but constructive performance reviews, you have to work hard to get any feedback. But, generally, partners/associates on your team have time for hypothetical questions and story-telling - great experience. Some associates really 'get' mentoring, and spend a lot of time teaching trainees."
