Graduate Jobs in Secondary Education
Horizon Teachers are currently recruiting graduates who are interested in starting their careers in Secondary School Education. Secondary Schools are challenging, fun and sociable places to work where you can make a huge difference to young people's lives
A job in Education offers huge a clear career path, good financial and personal rewards, and the opportunity to develop a host of transferable skills. Furthermore, every day is different, and students are always full of inspiring surprises and new points of view!
We can offer you full-time permanent work as a Teaching Assistant (TA), Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or Technician, in many of the best secondary schools in London.
TAs and LSAs specialise in a subject area ( eg English, Maths, Humanities, Science, MFL etc) where you focus on supporting year 7-11 pupils in making progress in those subjects, through one-to-one and in small group work. We have varied cross-curricular roles, Student Support and Pastoral roles, and always need good graduates of Engineering, Design & Technology, Science, Art, Drama and ICT, for technician roles too.
You may also have the chance to work with students with Special Educational Needs , adding a whole new dimension to your working day. You may plan and prepare parts of lessons, and manage behaviour. Therefore these roles are a very logical choice for a graduate considering a career in education.
The secondary schools that we work with offer outstanding training and professional development opportunities, (for example on autism awareness, British Sign Language and Makaton training). For those already serious about Teaching, there are prospects for TAs and LSAs to move to an in-house Teacher Training program such as Schools Direct or Teach First at the end of the first year as a TA/LSA.
As a company, Horizon Teachers are a friendly, dedicated and compassionate team of specialist consultants who take the time to get to know you and you the desires you have for your work (and life!). Our goal is that you have a rewarding, sustainable placement that ensures you are on you way to achieving your goals, whatever they may be.
