Graduate Learning Mentor – The role:
As a graduate learning mentor you will be a highly academic individual yourself, ideally with a 2.1 or above degree from a Russell Group university. You will be depended upon to support the gifted and talented students in order to pass on your excellent subject knowledge and guide the students to success. The learners are expected to achieve A*-B equivalent GCSE and A Level grades so require someone to act as a graduate learning mentor towards them in order to give them revision tips and essay writing advice. In this role communication is key as well as the ability to build a good rapport with students. Behaviour is usually not an issue as these students are high achievers and want to learn, absorbing the information and help you can give.
Centrally located this school is within easy access of the city centre and there are a number of direct bus routes in to New Street station. For those thinking of driving in to school there will be enough free car parking spaces available. As a popular destination for students, this school is a large and oversubscribed establishment, which year on year recruits a number of graduate learning mentors in order for the students to fully benefit from exceptional support. Do you think you could add to the student’s success?
Some of the students who attend this school come from a low-socio economic background and the head teacher of this school is very passionate about ensuring all students who attend are given exceptional learning opportunities. If you too are passionate about supporting students of all backgrounds and believe a child’s socio-economic background should not impact upon what they are able to achieve – then this head teacher would love to meet you!
