These secondary school are looking to interview right away for an English graduate to work as a teaching assistant within the school’s department.
The schools have a proven track record of working with graduates, giving them the required skills and experience to become future ‘Outstanding’ teachers! Most have teacher training programmes and use this as a ’foundation year’ to progress onto teacher training the following year.
You will work as a Teaching Assistant under the guidance of head of English, to support pupils in and out of the classroom, many of the students that you will work with will be at that critical C/D grade borderline. Teaching Assistants should have good communication skills as you will have to liaise between both students and class teachers. The school will rely upon you to make sure all work set is completed to a good standard.
Our schools are used to supporting graduates in their first school based role, so you will be given some training before you arrive and the school will provide further training as and when required.
You will be invited to join an online community of likeminded graduate Teaching Assistants to share ideas and resources with, and build a portfolio of relevant modules whilst in school to ensure you get the perfect preparation for your next role!
