Purchasing - Trading - Undergraduate

What to Expect

International markets and complex global deals, Purchasing is a crucial area of our business and you’ll join as an undergraduate for 12 months.

From ensuring supplier delivery and managing relationships, to gaining first hand experience of Purchasing support functions, you could make your mark in any of these areas; Exterior, Chassis, Powertrain, Electrical, Interior, Programmes, Aftermarket & Special Vehicle Operations, Non-Production, Purchasing and Trading Division, to name a few.

With ongoing support from industry-leading experts and opportunities to gain further skills and professional qualifications (CIPS), not only will you develop truly world-class negotiating and influencing skills, you’ll be part of a dynamic team that delivers the production of the next generation of our vehicles.

What You'll Need

Excellence runs throughout our entire business and we expect you to be the same. Currently studying for a degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain & Logistics or any STEM subject, you’ll be on track for at least a 2:2. You’ll have strong numerical and analytical competence, the ability to work effectively in a challenging environment and possess a never-ending commitment to delivering results. As travel between sites and suppliers will be required, a full driving license is also essential.

And with ongoing support from industry-leading experts, you’ll quickly realise the schemes have been designed to be just as inspiring as the pioneering vehicles you’ll help produce.

All of our undergraduate programmes have a fixed start date commencing June 24 2019 and this placement is for a duration of 12 months.

Whichever path you follow, your hard work and contribution deserves recognition. So as well as ongoing support and learning opportunities, you’ll receive a competitive salary. This will be around £300 per week, or £15,600 p.a.

For those on 12 month placements, a generous holiday allowance will also be yours, as will many other benefits. With on-site facilities like gyms and sports hall, plus regular social events, you’ll have plenty of chances to make friends and have fun too.
