"The flexibility has been amazing. I am not a morning person so I work flexible hours to facilitate that. My work/life balance is the best within my peer group."

"Hours are fairly flexible and can be adjusted if I have serious commitments outside of work or need to work from home. However, certain teams tend to work longer hours than the standard of the division."

"I work from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm on most days (sometimes less and sometimes more). My employer is very flexible so it's mostly ok when I really have to leave work early or get in late."

"I work from roughly 8.00 am to 8.00 pm on average. My employer is flexible with these hours but I feel compelled to stay so long since my teammates do so too."

"I work approximately 12 hours a day on average but this will increase during busy periods. There is a certain amount of flexibility so long as you get your work done."

"Work hours in investment banking can be tough, even though I think J.P. Morgan has a better work/life balance than most places in the industry. The company has introduced several initiatives to improve this such as 'pens down from Friday night until Saturday noon', protected weekends and the 'no-marketing' rule over weekends. There is not much time left for anything other than sleep in my team during the week. However, I've had most of my weekends free, which is definitely a perk."

"Credit risk offers a relatively healthy work/life balance, with a standard working day running from 9.00 am until 7.00 pm. As with every job, there are occasionally busy periods where these hours can be extended but your manager will always try to manage your workload to ensure that any overtime is minimised. Maintaining a healthy work/life balance is high on the agenda at J.P. Morgan and people will be flexible to your requirements, whether that be doctors' appointments, personal emergencies, or even allowing you to work from home if you cannot get into work."

"Working hours are a little less flexible when working on a live transaction as tasks may come up more unexpectedly. Having said that, working hours are generally good and colleagues are understanding if you leave early to go to planned events etc."
