Graduate Delivery Manager – Highways

Where you’ll work:

Kier Highways have designed over £1bn of projects in two years, managing and maintaining more tunnels for strategic roads in the UK than any other provider.  We design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems, covering strategic and nationally important roads, and in total look after 50,000km of road network across the UK for Highways England, London Highways Alliance, Transport for London and several local authorities.

What you’ll do:

You will project manage the day to day management and delivery of highway improvement and road renewal schemes for the East Region Highways England contract. You will also co-ordinate and liaise with the design team and supply chain as required.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Check Method Statements, Risk Assessments and produce Construction Phase Plans
  • Produce works programmes and liaise with contractor to ensure programme dates are       met, overview of all commercial aspects relating to
  • Liaise and facilitate relationships with designers, contractors, stakeholders and client
  • Advise designers on buildability of designs and ECI
  • Manage all permits and approvals for the schemes
  • Assist in resolving Construction / Design issues
  • Arrange and chair progress meetings with contractors 
  • Ensure schemes are constructed in accordance to the approved design
  • Ensure workforce adhere to H & S and Environmental rules
  • Inspect TM layout of schemes and address items raised
  • Produce site documentation and ensure site inductions are done
  • Work to an agreed programme
  • Complete site audits
  • Provide as built and post construction information
  • Provide cost details for monthly forecasting

What you need to qualify:

We look for those who embody our company ethos, whilst academically you’ll have completed your degree (or about to), on course to achieve a 2.2 or above on a Civil or Structural Engineering related programme and accredited by a professional body.
