Graduate System Engineer Job Description

Leonardo is looking to recruit a Graduate Systems Engineer to join our growing Air Systems UK business. The role is working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, developing secondary surveillance radar and related systems for Air, Sea and Land platforms.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate would have the following responsibility and duties:

  • Develop and manage User and System Requirements
  • Production of Design Specifications, Integration Plans and Test Specifications
  • Support marketing and bid preparation
  • Assist with conducting development and acceptance testing
  • Manage changes to the solution/design while continuing to communicate the changes to the team
  • Work closely with other key members i.e. Hardware and Software engineers, business development team, bid manager and project management team

Role Requirements

  • Must have obtained or are predicted to obtain a 2:1 or higher in a BSc, BEng or MEng in a relevant degree discipline; engineering, physical sciences or mathematics  
  • Must be able to obtain SC security clearance (if necessary) and have a minimum of 5 years permanent residency in the UK.
  • Some practical experience of systems design through a placement or project.

You will be working within world class facilities regardless of which site you are based.  Dependent on your role, you may be working in an office or lab environment or a combination of both. There may also be opportunities to travel between different sites and to meet with customers and suppliers.  Occasionally you may also travel abroad.
