My experience with Lockheed Martin UK (LMUK) started in July 2012 when I embarked on a 13 month placement at Ampthill. During this time I worked on 3 different programmes which were all at different stages of development, this gave me a valuable insight in engineering on systems such as combat vehicles, radar protection systems and hypersonic vehicles.
I was offered a place on the graduate programme at the end of my placement and in October 2015, came back to Ampthill as a supply chain engineer on the Scout vehicle programme. I have since rotated into an analysis role, analysing firing data from trials.
My time with Lockheed Martin UK has seen me work on many different projects which is something I don’t think many other companies can offer. I have also had the opportunity to attend; air shows, conferences, outreach and fundraising events – such as being STEM ambassador in schools and cycling across Ireland.
