My career started at Mace when I completed the 10-week summer placement programme in Cost Consultancy between my second and third year of university. I had the opportunity to work on some really exciting projects, and Mace gave me the opportunity to take on some real responsibility. It was because of this I decided to come back to Mace on the graduate scheme.
I love the variety of work and the exciting projects that Mace wins, and with it being an international company there are always opportunities to work abroad. Mace is also a multidisciplinary company, which means I have had the chance to visit some of Mace’s biggest and most exciting projects.
The graduate scheme at Mace means that you get to meet other graduates from different business units across the company and start building your internal network, which helps to expand your external network through these relationships. The scheme also gives you the chance to learn about the wider Mace business and the work they are involved in, but most importantly gives you the chance to grow and develop you so that you can become more confident in your day to day role.
Being a graduate at Mace means that I have been able to dive straight into my role and take ownership of the projects I am working on. I have gained experience on a huge range of projects at different stages and across different sectors, which also gives me an opportunity to understand different client needs and interact with the wider Cost Consultancy team.
No two days are ever the same, the support and encouragement I receive from my team is incredible, and I get to experience the entire lifecycle of a project. I learn so much every day, and I am getting the exposure I need to be able to complete my professional chartership.
