Start your world-class training contract with one of the world’s largest law firms. We have offices in the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Despite being a leading global law firm, our offices still maintain an open and inclusive culture with tightly knit teams. During your training, you’ll be one of 30 trainees and you’ll have the opportunity to assist our teams on matters that may be multidisciplinary, cross-border, complex and high-profile in nature. As a trainee at Mayer Brown, you’ll be encouraged to play an active part of the team. As you develop your skills, you’ll be able to take on more responsibility – but you’ll always have the support of your colleagues. Over two years you’ll experience four seats. During each six-month seat, you’ll share an office with a partner or senior associate who’ll act as your supervisor or mentor. They’ll be there at every step, to take an active interest in your development, and to help you plan your career at Mayer Brown.
You’ll also be able to work with the graduate recruitment team to tailor your training contract across a broad range of seats. This includes our main practice areas in London and potentially international secondments in either Hong Kong or New York. However, if you don’t want to stray too far, you can gain valuable in house experience by going on secondment to one of the firm’s major clients. To succeed with us, you’ll demonstrate a drive for results, have good verbal and written communication skills and an ability to analyse, with good judgement and excellent interpersonal skills. Plus, we’re looking for candidates who not only have a consistently strong academic record, but also have a wide range of extracurricular interests and achievements. Our training contracts are open to undergraduates and graduates from all disciplines, who have (or expect to receive) 340 UCAS points (or equivalent), and a 2:1 degree in any discipline (or equivalent.)
