Merkle - Periscopix

Programmatic Display Account Manager (2018 start date)

The Company

Periscopix is a young, friendly and fast-growing specialist online advertising agency based near Tower Bridge.  We are committed to providing the highest standards of technical skills and service and pride ourselves on an outstanding record of client and staff retention, with turnover rates significantly below the averages for our sector.

Our team currently numbers around 110, with a 48%/52% split of women/men and an average age of 27.

We believe that work should be fun and interesting and are keen to encourage all staff to maintain a healthy work-life balance, including adhering to a strict 9am-5.30pm working day.  We work hard to foster a culture of supportiveness and co-operation throughout the business and have a diverse and inclusive range of social events throughout the year, ranging from fish and chip lunches to weekends away with partners and families.

The Role

We are looking for talented individuals to join our programmatic display campaign team, which is one of the fastest growing and most highly respected in the UK and Europe.

You will be working with clients from a wide range of sectors and will have significant involvement in major campaigns from an early stage.

You will work with colleagues and clients to understand our clients’ objectives and will formulate a campaign strategy based around these.  You will be responsible for designing and implementing campaigns, analysing performance data, and identifying ways to optimise performance.

You will liaise directly with clients, providing them with regular reports, analysis, insights and big-picture strategy.

As part of a fast growing team you will be encouraged to help assist with our evolution and will have the opportunity to learn about new areas within the programmatic space, often having the chance to be first to market with new tools or targeting strategies.

Programmatic advertising is a rapidly evolving sector and there is a strong focus on sharing skills and experience within the team.  You will be encouraged to participate in, and contribute to, our various initiatives in this regard as well as publishing blog posts etc. to help promote our capabilities with the wider community.

This is a busy and committed team and your work hours will be amply filled with activities but, in common with the rest of the business, there is a friendly and supportive culture and help is always on hand when needed.

Thanks to the rapid growth and our commitment to hiring only at junior levels, there are fantastic opportunities for career progression.  These include mentoring and training, development of our technical capabilities and thought leadership, driving strategy across multiple accounts, and ultimately the potential to manage a team of specialists.

The Individual

Previous experience in programmatic advertising is not required, as we will provide comprehensive training from the outset.

This is a fast paced role and you will need to be an enthusiastic and well organised self-starter.  As far as possible we aim to leave people to organise their own time, so you must be able to plan and prioritise effectively and to consistently achieve deadlines.  You will be expected to recognise potential problems and seek help where needed.

You must be articulate and confident in dealing directly with clients in a wide range of roles and organisations.  Strong written English is essential, as you will be communicating extensively via email and preparing reports for clients.

You should be comfortable with spreadsheets and basic numeracy, to be able to present information clearly and to reason your way through problems in an orderly and effective way.

A healthy intellectual curiosity and ambition is useful but above all you must be a great team player, able to co-operate well and support your colleagues.  We encourage all of our staff to think in a creative way in order to help achieve success for both ourselves and our clients and to help to keep our day-to-day work interesting, challenging and varied.

As an individual committed to achieving high standards in everything you do, you must have an outstanding academic record including the following (or equivalents):

  • At least five grade As at GCSE
  • Minimum grades of ABB at A-level
  • A degree classification of 2:1 or above at a top university (in any subject)

We offer a starting salary of £22,000-£25,000 depending on previous experience and an excellent package of other benefits including 25 days’ holiday (with additional days based on length of service) and a company pension scheme.

At the time of starting their employment the successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK.
