Senior Programmatic Sales Manager

We are looking for someone to join our growth and consulting team. The focus of this team is to grow the business; however, is it critical that this is done in a truly consultative way; using knowledge and experience to develop digital marketing solutions that best suit the client’s needs and goals. Within our fast moving and competitive market, it is key to strike the right balance for our clients, presenting solutions that are appropriately resourced and shape a solution that evolves with the changing level of sophistication of our clients marketing activities.

As the advertising landscape is currently going through a major shift with more and more organisations moving spend toward programmatic forms of media acquisition. Historically, limitations in tracking the impact of an ad at the individual user level has encouraged businesses to leverage scale in order the average down the cost per impression. This shift leads to an opportunity to change the advertising paradigm, using addressability to reach individuals in the most appropriate circumstances and environment with the best message.

We find that many organisations are looking for us to help guide them through this change and better understand how they can put data at the heart of their advertising and marketing activities. Programmatic allows for more efficient media acquisition but the really value sits in the ability to track the impact. We look to develop attribution models which understand the value targeted individual moves through their decision making process; across device and the physical and online worlds.

The role therefore is quite challenging, it requires a wide and developing knowledge; strong articulation skills to communicate a complex and technical market simply but effectively. We are also looking for someone with a strong ethical backbone which will ensure you serve the clients motive before your own; given that the primary objective will be to generate new business and help grow our company and you are reworded for doing so. Most of our opportunities are generated through existing relationships, word of mouth and via our marketing activities. 

The Individual

Previous experience in digital advertising (ideally display) is required and given the changing nature of the industry, you will need the aptitude to learn more about paid search, web analytics and data centric advertising in order to understand how digital marketing can best be utilised in different scenarios and to assess the effectiveness of existing campaigns.

Experience in a commercial environment, sales or business development role, consulting, training or generally client facing is desirable as well.  We do not have a 'hard selling' culture but instead look to establish sustainable long-term relationships with clients to the mutual benefit of both organisations. We will, of course, provide the necessary training if required to gain a full understanding of our proposition.

You will also need enthusiasm and drive and be able to organise and prioritise you own work effectively. You must be, warm, personable, confident, persuasive and articulate with the ability to work independently. You should expect to deal with a wide range of clients ranging from very small to very large and with contact points of varying levels of seniority and understanding of our sector. We have no time for ego.

You must have excellent written English and be able to produce clear and structured written proposals, ranging from short documents or emails to extensive RFP responses.

An undergraduate degree at 2:1 or above is preferred although we will consider other candidates in exceptional circumstances.
