2020 Training Contracts

We are recruiting trainee solicitors to commence a two-year training contract in September 2020.

Trainees complete six four-month seats and work alongside a partner or principal associate. There are a wide range of departments to experience and the firm tries to accommodate each trainee's own choice of seats, although these have to be balanced with the workload and business requirements at the time. Training is supported by a full induction, an in-house training programme developed by our team of professional support lawyers and the professional skills course (PSC).
Whilst we have separate offices around the country (Birmingham, Cambridge, Leeds, London, Manchester and Norwich) our strength is in our collaboration across the firm. We are looking for trainees to contribute to the firm as a whole and we encourage and support movement between offices with an accommodation allowance.

Who should apply?

We welcome applications from penultimate year law students, final year non-law students and graduates. We expect you to have already gained or be on course for a 2.1 degree or equivalent from either law or non-law disciplines. We recruit graduates who set high standards of achievement in both their academic and personal life. You’ll have a good balance between academic ability, interpersonal skills, drafting skills, common sense, commercial awareness, confidence and a professional attitude to work. You will also be willing to accept early responsibility. We look for candidates who have the potential to develop into our solicitors of the future.

A high proportion of trainees remain with the firm on qualification.
