Interview Questions

2016

"Tell us what you know about Montagu Evans."
Graduate, London
"What is community infrastructure levy (CLV)? What does this mean to you? Can you run us through compulsory purchase? How would you value the Pret on the corner as you approached the office? If you were to market this ground floor office space, how would you go about this?"
Graduate, London
"Everyone was asked about the current state of the market, although when I interviewed there certainly wasn't as much going on in the world as there is now! I was asked how to value a shop and about the modules I had chosen on my course etc."
Graduate, London
"First interview was more technical and asked me how I'd go about valuing a particular property etc. Second was less formal and we chatted about my favourite modules on my MSc etc."
Graduate, London
"The interview was relatively relaxed. It's really an opportunity for the interviewers to see whether you are a good fit for the culture of the firm so a lot of the questions are just getting to know you. There are several technical questions asked to see your thought process and how much you understand about the profession. I think this varies on your level of qualification as they understand that everyone comes in with different experiences and having studied different things."
Graduate, London
"Mix of technical and CV-based in my first interview. More of a chat in the second."
Graduate, London

2014

"I was asked a mixture of both academic, practical and social questions."
London
"It was more about where I was with my training as I am close to being qualified."
London
"I was asked about my knowledge of Montagu Evans. And also to explain why I wanted to work in property."
London
"Questions in my interview were about my previous experience and why I would like to work at this company."
London
"Questions included: Why do you want to work for Montagu Evans? Why do you think you would fit in well at Montagu Evans?"
London
"Questions were initially focused on my CV and any of my achievements I had mentioned in my covering letter. They also covered a few general wider economic questions before finishing with a few property related questions."
London
"I was asked for my thoughts on the different markets, what is happening, how I am getting on, what will happen if Scotland goes independent."
