"When the team goes out it is good fun. There are a lot of events solely for trainees to help them develop skills. The clear hierarchy is not a drawback as everyone is approachable and willing to help you learn."
Second year trainee, London
"A friendly and collaborative culture ensures that staff are both ready to listen and approachable."

"The in-office culture at Nabarro is good and there is often a strong sense of everyone pulling together in the same direction. After hours culture varies, so although the associates and partners generally have minimal involvement here, trainee groups are consistently fun."
Second year trainee, London
"The culture at Nabarro is very inclusive and open. Staff are generally enthusiastic and everyone, from admin staff to partners, is incredibly approachable."
First year trainee, Sheffield
"Nabarro places an emphasis on a work/life balance. This is very important to me so I am very happy to work for a firm that stresses this."
Second year trainee, London
"Everyone at the firm, including the partners, is friendly. People understand if you need to leave on time or early. Socialising varies between departments, but the trainees are all very close."
First year trainee, Sheffield
"It is extremely friendly and sociable both in and out of work at Nabarro. There is no-one I have met who is unapproachable or unwilling to help. There is a great sense of teamwork and despite the hierarchy, your opinion and work is always valued."
Second year trainee, London
"Teamwork is at the centre of everything in the firm and there are regular opportunities to socialise."
Second year trainee, London
"In the office, the hierarchy is clear but there is always an appropriate person to ask questions to and no question is too simple. After-hours at work you barely see any hierarchy. I am lucky to call my colleagues some of my best friends."
First year trainee, London
"The culture is the best thing about Nabarro. Colleagues are approachable, supportive and there is a work hard, play hard ethos."

"The hierarchy at Nabarro is only really evident by title; you will often be given work directly by a partner and, genuinely, most of the firm are extremely friendly and social at all levels. The majority of the trainees are also very social and, as we train at Kaplan together, are all friends before we even start our training contracts."
Second year trainee, London
"It can be very hierarchical at times, but then most staff are very friendly. Structurally, changes have been made recently that weren't that popular but do seem to be for the best. Socialising depends on the team you are in. Some are very friendly and some are not quite as open."
First year trainee, London
"The culture is excellent and avoids the usual corporate stuffiness. It's an open firm where people can be themselves. In my experience though it is still very hierarchical and management don't always take on board comments from their teams when they should. The socialising is generally good, although fee earners stay within their teams and there needs to be more inter-team or inter-firm events."
Second year trainee, London
"The culture is supportive and friendly, certainly in my department, and the trainees always help each other when there are admin-type tasks to do. More generally, there are a lot of social activities from hill walking, netball and charities work, as well as general going to the pub."
Second year trainee, Sheffield
"Everyone is extremely supportive, positive and friendly. There is an 'open-door' policy, so that everyone is extremely approachable. There is a very collaborative structure, so that people at all levels work together. There are many social events held which are firm-wide, as well as within individual teams/departments."
First year trainee, London
"In the main, the culture is open, friendly and supportive. When we have time to do so - there are a lot of opportunities for getting together socially and to work together on charity and BD projects."
First year trainee, Sheffield
"This is a very sociable firm, both in the office and outside. Socialising with colleagues and clients is actively encouraged. Even the vacation scheme has lots of social events involving people from across the firm. As with most large City law firms, the structure is very hierarchical. Teamwork depends on departments but across the firm generally there is a strong team spirit."
