"Each department has training at the beginning of each rotation. This is very helpful, and is often in great detail, so you have the answers to a lot of initial questions at your fingertips."

"Training is comprehensive: boilerplate induction training; group training (corporate, property) and then further department specific training. These sessions are topped up by frequent associate training, lunch sessions and further programmes that anyone can attend if they so wish."

"All seats have own training which is often quite good. There is often department-based lunchtime training as well."

"The training is generally good and covers the SRA requirements. The trainee away day in Sheffield was really good fun and there was a great day of training and an interactive game about how to run a law firm, which was more fun than it sounds..!"
Second year trainee, London
"Training depends on the department, but the property training I have received has been particularly good and thorough."
First year trainee, Sheffield
"For every change of seat there is a new training programme for that department. Then there is on-going PSC training alongside other general training, such as legal writing skills, which is open to all."
First year trainee, Sheffield
"As a trainee you are thrown in at the deep end (in a good way!). You have the opportunity to learn by doing, and are afforded really good levels of responsibility, which stand you in good stead for life as an associate."
Second year trainee, London
"There is lots of training in your first week in a new department, and also in the first few weeks as a trainee. This is a great help in big transitions."

"As a trainee we do the PSC core modules but also we have introductory training sessions at the start of each seat and we are also encouraged to attend training sessions for associates as we move through the firm."
First year trainee, London
"The legal training is very good and very structured. There is also networking training and practice networking sessions."
First year trainee, London
"All teams run in-house training at the start of each new seat and provide core documents to trainees to use during the seat, which are always excellent. There are also a lot of knowledge sharing sessions in teams with external trainers. Non-legal skills I've picked up include client care, BD and how to market yourself."
Second year trainee, London
"The firm offers regular training in each department as well as PSC training."
