Interview Process

2014

"I submitted a paper application for the training contract, then attended an assessment day where I was tested and interviewed before being offered a training contract. However, this route is no longer available and all future trainees must now apply for a place on the vacation scheme to be considered for the training contract."

"Nabarro only recruit their vacation scheme which is how I was recruited. To get on the scheme, you are invited for an assessment day (following a successful application of course!) which consists of an interview with a partner and several exercises throughout the day (e.g. negotiation exercises, speed-networking exercises, etc). Following this you are then selected to attend the vacation scheme which is three weeks in one of Nabarro's departments. During this time you are given work from your department, who then give feedback to a supervisor, as well as participating in a Project Nabarro exercise (run by Grad Recruitment) and many social events! At the end of the scheme, if you want to be considered for a training contract, you have another interview with a partner and then await the outcome!"

"We had an individual interview with two partners, a 'speed networking' session with people at different levels within the firm, and a group exercise. There was also a long assessment form to fill out prior to interview."
First year trainee, London
"There was an assessment day, followed by interview to gain a place on the vacation scheme. Nabarro recruits 100% from vacation scheme students. Vacation scheme then included a further interview, as well as various forms of assessment throughout."
First year trainee, Sheffield
"The process is as follows: written application, assessment day, formal interview, three week vacation scheme including written assessments, group work and a final interview."
Second year trainee, Sheffield
"Application, day-long assessment centre, interview with a partner and HR, three-week vacation scheme. It's very thorough, but there's as much emphasis on you finding out whether the firm is for you as the other way round."
