National Instruments

For nearly 40 years, National Instruments (NI) has worked with engineers and scientists to provide answers to the most challenging questions. Through these pursuits, NI customers have brought hundreds of thousands of products to market, overcome innumerable technological roadblocks, and engineered a better life for us all. If you can turn it on, connect it, drive it, or launch it, chances are NI technology helped make it happen.

We provide powerful, flexible technology solutions that accelerate productivity and drive rapid innovation. From daily tasks to grand challenges, NI helps engineers and scientists overcome complexity to exceed even their own expectations. Customers in nearly every industry—from healthcare and automotive to consumer electronics and particle physics—use NI’s integrated hardware and software platform to improve our world. We have worked on exciting projects such as the modernisation of brake testing using CompactRIO and Deploying a Ground Fault Detection System in an Electricity Distribution Network. Most recently we have helped put a camera onto the space station in orbit around the world!

Our success is down to our employees. We recruit the ‘best and the brightest’ graduates and interns from Technical, Engineering and Scientific degrees and put their skills to the test in a technically challenging and people focused environment. To ensure innovation is at the forefront of our business we need people who are both creative and technically able; those who can take technical concepts, combine it with business knowledge and help clients find innovative solutions to their challenges through technical sales and support.

We offer graduates an engineering career with a difference. Join our Engineering Leadership Programme and you will use your technical knowhow to support and promote our products to Scientists and Engineers around the globe. Our 18 – 24 month programme provides you with structured training and development to help you through your journey with us; from learning about our products, to supporting and advising customers and even running workshops. You are supported every step of the way.

‘I chose National Instruments because I wanted a career where I would be facing different challenges every day and could build upon the skills I gained at University. I was given responsibility early on in my career and I am continuously presented with opportunities to develop my technical and soft skill areas. I have led a hands-on track at our largest annual conference, taught courses to customers at companies and Universities across the UK and Ireland and more recently I have taken on the challenge of leading a technical sales team to meet business and personal development goals. Across the Engineering Leadership Programme I have helped customers in a range of industries to solve technical and business problems to ensure their success which is something I find incredibly rewarding.’ – Tim, Durham University; Mphys Physics and Astronomy
