Engineering Graduate Scheme
Nestlé Academy has built its reputation as a continual innovator over a history of more than a century and a half. So for an ambitious Engineering Graduate, it really is the best of both worlds. A safe, secure business with which to build a successful career but, also, the kind of employer that encourages you to try new ways of doing things.
That’s why we’re now looking for people who love exploring ideas. Does that sound like you? For example, have you been weighing up which of the world’s biggest brands could get your career off to the best start, now that you’ve graduated or will be graduating soon? That bold, impressive ability to look critically at your choices is just what we want to see from the next generation of Nestlé innovators.
What can you expect?
Our two-year Engineering Graduate Scheme gives you the chance to take one of two routes.
The Product Technology Centre (PTC) route, will see you working cross-functionally within our Centre of Excellence for chocolate, sugar confectionery and biscuits, part of our global network of research centres. You’ll work on a specific project for the duration of the Scheme, which could be anything from developing new technology that improves the nutritional value of confectionery to developing new assets to create a range of new ideas.
The Nestlé UK and Ireland route will see you undertaking two, one-year placements in any of a number of UK locations. The first placement will give you the opportunity to work on a number of projects, potentially around product engineering or design and installation of new equipment, for example. The second placement focuses on building your maintenance or industrial services skills.
Join us and you’ll:
- Develop your Engineering career with one of the world’s biggest manufacturing companies – with the possibility of becoming a Technical Specialist, Engineering Manager, Project Manager, or to move into broader technical management roles
- Engage in everything from product tasting, 3D printing and CAD drawing in the PTC role to performance reviews, planned activities for teams and identifying improvements in the NUK role
- Use your creativity and initiative to work toward chartered status with the full support of the business
Who are we looking for?
If you’re curious, love solving problems and are willing to take risks, this is an outstanding opportunity to develop your Engineering skills and apply them in a business critical role. You’ll need great networking skills, serious pride in your work and an agile approach to learning, not to mention the resilience to keep trying new ideas. And, of course, to be studying towards or currently hold an Engineering Degree (Electrical, Mechanical or Automation). But we are equally interested in your behaviours and how you will fit in with our business.
