"Work hours can sometimes be long but, 99% of the time, this is because the project demands it. Newton is dedicated to the rule of 'home by 6.00 pm on a Friday' no matter where you are working in the country."
Graduate, Sheffield
"Newton is very flexible but the nature of the work can sometimes require demanding hours."
Graduate, Northampton
"This depends on the site. Hours are not always super flexible but you can work from home if you need to and holiday allowances are very flexible and available."
Graduate, UK Wide
"The working hours can be long during the week but you never, ever work weekends. A standard day is ten hours, though Fridays are shorter and you'll work more than this when it's busy. You'll stay near site so commuting isn't an issue but working hours will rise and fall. That said, it is very flexible. I decide my own schedule based on what I think I need to get done. Sometimes that means I'm in early and out early while other times I'll have a late start but leave late too."
Entry level, Currently London, though it varies.
"You are usually on site at pretty standard times (8.00 am to 6.00 pm/6.30 pm) but there can be work to do in the evenings. How you approach the work you do is very flexible. You can work on it after dinner or get up early in the morning to do it. The workload fluctuates slightly depending on the stage of a project you are on and assessments are often more intense, short periods of time in comparison to implementation."
Graduate, All over UK
"We get good support from Newton to ensure that our hours and lifestyle are ok. It's up to you to make sure that you ask for what you need. There can be long hours early on in projects but this tends to even out on longer projects. Sabbaticals and unpaid leave are common, which means you can really make work flexible around your lifestyle."

"Newton encourages us to not work in the evenings, and we never work weekends, but due to the nature and drive of the people working here we do sometimes work long hours."
Senior Consultant, Various UK locations
"Hours depend on the client and also the current work rate. If you need to work late nights during certain points of the project you are expected to, however when there is not a lot of work on you are not expected to stay."
Consultant, Various UK locations
"Hours can be quite strict as we need to be on-site and visible to the client. You work away Monday to Friday so sometimes it is hard to escape work. Though you will never work on the weekends!"
Operations Consultant, London
"Hours will vary from project to project and are also dependent on your ability to manage your time well. We are generally encouraged to think about more about results than hours."
Senior Consultant, London
"We work from 8:00am to 6:00pm on-site, which could be anywhere in the country. Typically I'll then work one or two evenings a week. No working on weekends is a company rule."
Senior Consultant, Birmingham
"There is little flexibility, (if at all), except in genuine cases of need. Hours are typically 8:00am-6:00pm, with some administration and internal work on an evening or two a week. There is, however, no work on weekends from 6:00pm on Friday until 6:00am Monday."
Senior Consultant, London
"Some days there can be long hours, but these sessions are few and far between. Most days finish on time and a healthy work/life balance is actively encouraged by all."
Senior Consultant, Oxford
