After a tailored on-boarding programme to quickly settle you in to the Nielsen team, you will spend each quarter developing your skills and understanding in a different area of the business. From helping clients to enhance their marketing activities or develop a product launch strategy, to growing your multi market understanding, this programme will challenge you to make a difference to our business.
Assignment One - Familiarisation
You will spend your first 3 months undertaking a structured training programme to demonstrate the value that we bring to our clients and provide you with the core skills. This will cover business fundamentals, analytical skills, presentations skills and storytelling. At the end of this period you will be assessed via role play and presentations.
Assignment Two - Client Engagement
Through months 4 – 6 you will undertake a project focussed around the continuous market tracking services we provide to our clients. This assignment will give you a closer understanding of the insights that we provide to our clients through our core products and services, Retail Measurement and Consumer Panel.
Assignment Three - Practice Areas
Through months 7 – 9 you will work within one of our Practice Areas, Sales Effectiveness, Marketing Effectiveness or Innovation to understand how we help our clients to enhance their marketing efforts, price & promotional strategies and new product launch strategy. You’ll be working on a project that will help to drive internal efficiencies in one of these areas.
Assignment Four - Multi Market
In your final 3 months of year 1 you will spend the initial 2 weeks within a European market outside of the UK. You will be set the objective of understanding more about a process or way of working implemented within this region, and you will bring learnings back to the UK, and define a plan to implement these effectively and sensitively to generate growth.
Placement Year 1
In year 2 you’ll be placed in a live role, working directly with our clients, delivering against growth objectives. You’ll consolidate your learnings across the assignments to embark on a journey to become a leader within Nielsen. This will be supported with Leadership training and opportunities to demonstrate the skills you have learnt.
Placement Year 2
In your final year you’ll rotate to a new team or function, expanding your leadership experience to take on managerial responsibility. You may be selected to participate in the Emerging Leaders Program and spend the next 18 months rotating across Europe or you may capitalise on local team management or Client leadership opportunities.

- Starting basic salary £26,000
