"My understanding is that there are more female associates than male. The firm also provides a great deal of support to LGBT employees. Ethnic diversity in the workplace is visible but my impression is that the staff is predominantly white. The firm takes work placements from underprivileged schools and many of us serve as mentors for students from lower-class backgrounds who are interested in pursuing a career in law."

"We have a very diverse work force and very good diversity support networks."

"Very good. The staff running the LGBT, WiN and Shine networks put a lot of effort into this. When it comes to social mobility on the trainee recruitment side of things, it can be a bit hit and miss."

"The firm is very committed to diversity. We have societies that focus on women, LGBT members, Muslims, people with disabilities and others. They are all quite big and regularly organise events for everyone."

"Women in NRF (women), Pride (LGBT) and Shine (Muslim) all have various events that are well funded and attended. I think there are plenty more too."

"The firm is excellent at recruiting a diverse range of trainees and associates with regards to gender, ethnicity and disability. Improvements could be made at a partner level but this will inevitably take time. I have been particularly impressed by the efforts the firm makes to support and promote women (from the perspective of a male trainee)."
Second year trainee, London
"The firm is committed to promoting greater diversity and frequently holds events to raise awareness."

"We have a very diverse workforce of people with all sorts of backgrounds."

"PRIDE network is one of the best around in the city and incredibly inclusive. They held a party for both members and allies of the network prior to the Pride Parade this year and hold regular film nights and mentoring sessions."

"The firm has an excellent women's network WiN (Women in Norton Rose Fulbright). There are regular networking events, both internal and external. One of the most popular is the annual WiN 'tennis on the terrace' event. The firm has a range of supportive networks and initiatives with regular talks and events."

"I think that the diversity initiatives here are incomparable: the diversity networks are part of the furniture here, which is no bad thing. The women's and LGBT networks are particularly active; which is encouraging."
Second year trainee, London
"I think that the firm's commitment to diversity is good, and Norton Rose Fulbright has various networks."

"There is a good gender and ethnic mix at the firm. I know a number of solicitors who are on maternity leave or with children working part-time, and feel confident that the firm can provide a role for someone with children."

"A huge number of women work for the firm at all levels. Maternity leave is common, and generally happily accepted. My intake is ethnically very diverse and in terms of background, everyone has come from very different walks of life. There are three gay people on my intake, which is more than any other firm on the Accelerated LPC (in spite of many of them having bigger intakes). These things are just not an issue here, everyone is very broad-minded."

"Norton Rose Fulbright genuinely cares about diversity. I feel like the firm is committed to helping to break the glass ceiling for female associates wishing to progress further in the firm. Even as a first seater I have encountered numerous female associates in my team who are working on flexible time so that they can look after children at home. The LGBT groups within the firm are active and are linked up internationally across the offices. The firm also ensures that its graduate recruitment sufficiently represents different minority groups. I was impressed at how diverse my trainee intake is."
