"We get paid less than most grad schemes but the extra training and opportunities make up for it."
Graduate, I have worked in many places during my graduate scheme including Cumbria, Lancaster and Australia.
"The salary itself is pretty average for a graduate scheme. However, you also get a training and travel budget on top of that."
Graduate, Whitehaven, Cumbria
"The pay is fixed on the scheme for the two years. It is lower than some graduate schemes but the value comes in when you leave the scheme, as the experience you gain allows you to apply for higher-paid jobs ."
Graduate, Birchwood, Warrington
"We receive a relatively acceptable salary considering it's a graduate job. Other graduates at the same sponsor company may be on higher salaries but you should consider some of the extra perks that this scheme has over other ones."
Graduate, Nationwide - Currently Derby based
"I think the pay is fine and is very good if you compare it to something like a teacher's starting salary. The salary is worse than other good graduate schemes but you do get a lot of training over the two-year scheme."
Graduate, London currently. As part of the scheme you move around the country on different secondments, so your location changes (you have a say in your secondments and therefore your location).

"Relocation grants would be really helpful as moving is extremely costly. Otherwise the salary is good. To leave university and be on the kind of money we are paid is definitely helpful but you can feel out of pocket at the end of secondments. Some areas are far more expensive to live in than others so bear that in mind."
Graduate, Somerset
"Could be better but it's a great experience and we have training and travel budgets on top of the salary."
Graduate, varied
"It is slightly lower than other graduates in the industry. However, this is more than compensated for in the training and education provided, as well as the budgets we are given to spend on our own professional development."
Graduate, Lancaster
"I know of better graduate schemes financially but the opportunities you are provided with give you an incredible foundation to progress a long way in the industry."
Graduate, Heysham
"Salary is lower than similar graduate schemes. However, the training opportunities make up for this in the most part. Moving expenses are very limited and the pension could be better."
Graduate, North West
"This scheme does pay less than many equivalent schemes in similar areas and you do have to move a lot, which is expensive. However, you get far more opportunities in this graduate scheme and salaries at the end are generally very competitive. Definitely worth it."
Graduate, Various
"The pay is OK, a little low compared to the rest of the industry and other grad schemes but other schemes don't offer the same opportunities for travel, training and experience."
Graduate, Manchester
"Pay is fairly average for a graduate scheme but we get a great training budget and many perks, such as international travel, as part of the scheme. Many graduates leaving the scheme will see a large rise in pay."
Graduate, Reading

"I think the salary is lower than comparable schemes, and I don't think that there are pay increase opportunities."
Graduate, North West
"My scheme offers a good starting wage, with apparent opportunities for an increase once the grad scheme is completed. There are no bonuses that I know of."
Graduate, Liverpool
"Each graduate is given a 'golden hello' when joining the company. The salary is competitive, although not as high as applying to some of the specific sponsor companies directly."
Graduate, Glasgow
"The pay is somewhat on the low level for my discipline in my opinion; however the money available for development and travel really makes up for that. We have no opportunities for extra pay."
Graduate, London
"I am fairly satisfied with my salary, and as far as I am aware, there are no bonuses available."
Graduate, Derby
"There are 'jumps' post-scheme, where we are viewed as highly competent graduates, more-so than from other schemes - we are often paid considerably more after the scheme. There are no bonuses, nor performance based pay, which could be improved."
Graduate, Warrington
"Pay on the grad scheme is okay, but expenses make up for it along with the vast opportunity to visit sites."
Graduate, Barrow-in-Furness

"No bonuses but good competitive graduate pay. Unlocks full-time roles within the sponsoring companies which will allow to gain very good pay grades."
"Pay could be slightly better compared with other graduate schemes, but it is heavily reimbursed by training and development on offer along with a lot of freedom to direct your own career."
Graduate, Warrington
"There's a signing bonus of £1000 but the salary is quite low as other companies may offer £27000 - £28000. This, though, is offset because you are doing two postgraduate certificates while on the scheme."
Graduate, Seascale
"Pay is standard for a graduate engineer. No bonuses but good travel and CPD expenses are provided. Big potential for pay increase after the graduate scheme."
Graduate, Derby
"Not the best pay I was offered, also not the worst. You do get extra training money. The money is still reasonable, and I live in a cheap part of the country."
Graduate, Derby
