Graduate Programme - General Management

We are looking for 70 graduates across 10 schemes to join our fast paced, dynamic and innovative company. Ocado has been growing rapidly and through this we are giving real responsibility and autonomy to our graduates. What we want from our General Management candidates

Are you a confident individual ready to adapt to different situations? Can you build relationships to connect teams to reach an end goal? We are looking for future leaders and managers that can be put in any rotation and improve themselves and the project they have chosen.

The General Management Scheme

This 2 year programme will involve four rotations across a wide range of areas including Supply Chain, Logistics, Operational Management, Finance, General Merchandise and Human Resources. This rotational programme provides a fantastic opportunity for you to drive your own development based on your interests and passion. You will work on many business specific projects and spend time learning about the intricacies of our unique business model.

Potential Placements include:

This 24 month scheme is split over 4 x 6 month schemes. You will have the opportunity to work in 4 different ‘zones’ of Ocado. They consist of Central, Retail, Operations and Projects. If any of the specific placements excite you, you should research them in more detail as most have their own graduate scheme. After your two years, you are offered a contract with one of the teams you feel you felt you connected with best and can offer real value to the company.

Central – This 6 month scheme is usually a specialised area, amongst your choices are Legal, Finance, Graduate Recruitment, HR and Analysts. You work in a smaller team and take on an assigned project.

Retail – Ocado’s world of retail is huge, before your placement you will have a choice of one of the many sub sections of Retail that want a general management graduate.

Operations – This is your opportunity to be really hands on for 6 months. With the majority of options here being directly involved in the CFC’s, you will develop your leadership skills as you are put in charge of 30-40 and become a manager at one of our warehouses. There is the potential for shift work in some of the choices, but the benefits of that include 4 days on, 4 days off!

Projects – This is a particularly exciting rotation, you are put in charge of a project that you can make your own and strive towards an end goal that you set from the start. This rotation can be involved in areas such as Logistics Projects, Ocado Solutions and Logistics Design.
